N. Charleston

Hey Hey Blogger World!

We are back from our Charleston trip.

I have a turkey meatloaf cooking in the oven and a peach cobbler recipe brewing in my head.

I am here to share a few details and pictures of the trip!

We made good time. It seems to be about 7 1/2 hours from house to house. Since Jacob had just gotten home from work when we left on Thursday night, I drove for about 5 hours while snored along. I listened to Storm Front by Jim Butcher on audio book while I drove. Jacob drove the last leg through the rain and we arrived before 5 in the am.

We slept till about noon then toured a bit of the N. Charleston, Mount Pleasant area.

On Saturday Uncle Howard treated us to a homemade Southern BBQ, with red rice (guam style). mmm..

Auntie Selma can use your prayers. She is still in a lot of pain and not able to get up and about. Time will however, heal these wounds.

We drove home on Sunday. It was good to spend time with Jacob's Mother.
It was a good break away.

I love that house in the one picture. It is gorgeous!

You listened to an audio book while driving? That would put me to sleep! I need to heart-pumping music to keep me awake. Plus, I would never be able to listen to a book on tape with 2 yakking kiddos in the back seat.

Im glad you had a nice getaway. Everyone needs those once in a while.

Oh wow - I love cherry cider! After feeling guilty (since it is probably more closely aligned with coolaid than fruit) I find out it is full of antioxidants! WOO HOO
Anyhow - looks like a good trip and a blessing I'm sure to your family to see you two. We like to listen to audio books - who is the cute dog??
