families--what is it to you!?

--photo from Heart Gallery of America Inc.

My heart is just so overwhelmed today as I look through hundreds of photos of children with out families.
Oh I wish I had a 10 bedroom house in the country where I could give children forever families.

It breaks my heart. Check out this webpage. Each state has links where you can see children that are up for immediate adoption.

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. KJV

--My dad reminded me of this verse the other day.

I don't think I have the best writing skills out there. I struggle with putting my thoughts to words. But I find myself full of emotion, the kind that almost chokes your throat!
I am imagining children being in the foster care system from birth-age 18 without any one family to call their own.
Can you let you family provide that for someone!?

I would recommended Big Brothers Big Sisters for anyone that cannot make a full time life long commitment!!
It is an excellent program. I had the most wonderful 13 yr old girl for a bit over a year until we moved. I think she was even more of an encouragement to me that I was to her.

many blessing to you this weekend!

Great minds (and hearts) think alike. I posted about this very thing today. Josh and I wish we could just take them all!

It's so hard to look at their pictures and see their faces but not be able to help.

Blessings!

Rachel - you are definitely calling to a world where children need people with open hearts and arms - go for it! Love overcomes almost every obstacle - not exactly an original statement but as I "age" - sheesh that sounds like I'm a cheese! I do see more and more families where they just don't seem to like one another - love heals - you and your DH will be great healers!
